Curriculum

Our curriculum develops a broad knowledge base with a commitment to basic skills. We want all children to ‘be the best they can be’ and have designed our curriculum to be inclusive and imaginative; stimulating young minds as well as preparing them for the next stage in their educational journey.

Throughout school children are taught in a thematic manner in order to make links between different areas of learning. Please see below an overview of learning for each year group along with specific details for Maths and English.

Read Write Inc – how we teach reading and phonics

Throughout Reception and Key Stage One your child will be taught phonics, reading and writing through the highly successful Read Write Inc programme. Further details can be found by clicking the link below. All Reception parents are invited into school to hear more about this approach each September. We are delighted that we have been recognised as a RWI badge school due to the level of training, quality of delivery and success of our teaching of Read Write Inc leading to our pupils achieving consistently above the national average.
